Legacy Giving

Support the museum today and for generations to come.

Our mission is to enrich the lives of current and future generations through art. If you’re passionate about inspiring creativity and making a lasting impact in our community, we invite you to consider supporting the museum’s future through a planned gift.

We’d love to hear how you envision leaving your legacy at the Southern Nevada Art Museum! Feel free to contact us at Info@SouthernNevadaArtMuseum.org or 855-955-5428.

Create Your Giving Legacy

Bequests

One of the easiest ways to make a planned gift is by including a bequest in your will. Unrestricted bequests give the museum flexibility to use the funds where they are most needed. If you’d like to direct your bequest to a particular fund, program, or art collection, we’d be happy to discuss your intentions.

Retirement Plan Assets, IRAs and Stocks

Leaving retirement assets to the museum helps you achieve your charitable goals while potentially preserving more of your estate for your loved ones. Naming the museum as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or IRA may reduce tax exposure, maintain the value of your estate, and ease the tax burden on your heirs. Give appreciated stock and realize larger tax savings.

Life Insurance

A life insurance policy offers a powerful way to turn a modest contribution into a significant gift. You may transfer ownership of a paid-up policy to the museum, change the ownership and beneficiary of a current policy, or create a new policy naming the museum as the applicant, owner, and beneficiary.

Charitable Gift Annuities and Real Estate

Charitable gift annuities offer fixed lifetime income to beneficiaries in exchange for a donation of cash or marketable securities. The return rates are often higher than typical savings or money market accounts, and you can choose to begin receiving payments right away or defer them until retirement. Donate your house, continue to live there, and
get a tax break all at the same time

Charitable Remainder Trusts

A charitable remainder trust supports the museum’s future while providing lifetime annual income to you and/or other beneficiaries, along with notable tax advantages. It offers income for life or a specified term, after which the remaining assets go to the museum. You may also qualify for an immediate income tax deduction.

Charitable Lead Trusts

A charitable lead trust allows you to make a significant multi-year contribution to the museum while maximizing what your heirs receive. The trust provides annual payments to the museum for a set term, with the remaining assets eventually passing to your chosen beneficiaries. You can opt for an income tax deduction or pass the savings to your estate.

Art Donations

The Southern Nevada Art Museum welcomes inquiries about potential art donations, whether immediate or planned for the future. Southern Nevada Art Museum benefits enormously from in-kind gifts that provide non-cash support for a wide variety of needs. Gifts of Art

Do you own an artwork that you believe would be a valuable addition to the Museum’s collection? Are you an artist or gallery owner interested in donating a piece? Even if your artwork is not a match for the Museum’s collection, you may still choose to donate it as a “gift of property,” which could offer additional tax benefits.
